This a low mileage ~ 68,000 ~ Jaguar XJ40 6 cylinder sedan finished in light metallic blue with biscuit tan leather interior. It has a single gold stripe at the waist-rail. The car was traded into us and we know little about it other than driving it about 30 miles. Body is straight and paint looks to be factory original. The finish is shiny and clean with only various minor marks, little scratches and blemishes but overall very nice. This is clearly evident in the photographs. Exterior cosmetics present quite well. There are 1 or 2 small rust bubbles starting to show but nothing serious. No rust issues at the back window as is normally typical with Jaguars. Glass, chrome, rubber appear all nice. Interior is clean with usual wear on driver seat that could be easily colour dyed. The headliner does not droop and looks like it may have been changed. No cracks in the dash pad but a piece of the passenger side upper knee-roll pad has come detached. Wood throughout is excellent but for some delamination around the ash-tray in the centre console. Engine seems to power nicely and idle well. No problems starting hot or cold. Transmission chnages smooth and car brakes well. There is a "low brake pressure light" that comes on from time to time as does the ABS test-light but brakes feel ok. Driving, she is quite smooth and fine over even rough surfaces. The car has NOT been mechanically inspected at all so we know nothing more than our short drive of her. Tyres appear to be good with at least 75% tread if not more. Alloy wheels look clean and tidy. Engine bay presents quite immaculately in congruous with the low miles. Trunk floor carpet is missing. Spare is not original to car. Factory jack and tools are present and unused. One rear electric window does not work. Central locking is not working. A couple of the exterior door handles are stiff to open. Driver's door is ok. The heater works well but have not tested AC as it is simply too cold to test at the time of listing. Radio appears to not work and antennae mast is broken. A good looking cheap Jaguar that could be provide as a very nice driver for someone eager to fix the basic nuances. Plenty of pictures to review below and at the photo link.
