Description

This is a very beautiful presenting 20/25 Park-Ward coachbuilt bodied, enclosed sedan finished in black over Claret with black and burgundy interior. The car has been the subject of a restoration of considerable proportions some 10 years ago. Bare metal respray, complete interior refit and mechanically work shopped from top to bottom. The restoration bill was in excess of some $65,000 and, as you would expect, the finished product is quite stunning. All ongoing maintenance and servicing has been by us at Park-Ward. The body is by Rolls-Royce's coachbuilder; Mann & Egerton of New Bond St London. The coachwork on the car is excellent with no dents or scratches. The paint sports a deep and consistent lustre and is with only a few very minor blemishes. For the purist, this is not your car as it has been upgraded in ways that are not period correct but have improved the engineering of the car. Most notable, has been the fitment of 4 wheel disc brakes and a modern master cylinder to provide far improved braking of any 20/25. The upgrades have been added in a discrete and simpatico manner. The brakes were recently serviced by us with new pads, master cylinder, hoses and system flush and bled. Further recent mechanical work includes refurbishment of the gravity feed fuel pump, carburetor and ignition electricals. The clutch is need of replacement and we have one on order and will be attended to as part of the sale. The body is very straight with the metal construction entirely rust free and the wooden frame sections in excellent dry shape. The paint is dead flat and in very rich and deep in shine with perfect consistency. The vinyl roof is also new. We are not sure what happened to the vinyl under padding which is "lumpy" in appearance on the C pillars but rest assured this is NOT rust (it is soft pliable padding). The interior of the car was also restored to include all new upholstery & carpets. Not factory materials but a nice and masterful presenting finish nonetheless. The wood is well finished in its original satin style. The interior is lovely and done very elegantly. All tyres are good condition period correct whitewalls. This 20/25 could serve many purposes but because of its "modern upgrades" makes her a wonderful candidate for formal hire work, such as weddings. Should this be of interest to you please enquire with us on other upgrades we can do like "factory look" air conditioning which, of course, was never available on such early cars.
